Please let me offer my condolence on the sad news of pass away of Professor Dr. Ye Duzheng. I beg to join his friends in tendering my heartfelt condolence to the all meteorologists, climatologists and researchers on atmospheric physics not only in China, but also in the whole world.
Particularly, he contributed internationally to establishment of strong structure of International Geosphere, Bioshere Programme (IGBP) in East Asia, including studies on the monsoon circulations. These have been developing to Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which include the most valuable results of studies today.
He visited Japan many times and gave us very valuable comments and ideas to the researchers. We had organized many international conferences together and cooperative studies under his guidance. I would like to express our sincere thanks to his efforts, taking this opportunity.
Professor Ye, eternal and quiet sleep, please.
