高温已经成为地球上最常见的事件之一,根据NOAA的数据,2018年8月是世界历史上第五热的8月,而在北极海,2018年8月是第五热的8月。冰盖覆盖率仍接近历史低点,因此随着地球变暖,越来越热的气候对我们造成的影响正在逐渐显现。
2018年夏季,北半球经历了一系列极为不寻常的天气事件——北美和西欧出现了创纪录的热浪和干旱,而东欧和南欧则遭遇了异常的暴雨和洪水,日本也遭遇了少有的强烈暴雨与洪水,中国东北、日本和韩国则笼罩在持续的高温天气中。AOSL编委中国科学院大气物理研究所陆日宇研究员和韩国国立釜山大学HA Kyung-Ja教授针对2018年夏季东亚高温事件在AOSL组织专题:Special Section: Extreme Heat in East Asia of 2018 Summer。此专题收录了来自中山大学、南京大学、中科院大气物理研究所、韩国气象研究所作者5篇文章。
