灾害风险是一个现实的问题，也是一个全球关心的自然和社会相互作用的科学问题。为了更好的联合各国专家，共同应对自然和人类引发的环境灾害的挑战，国际科学理事会（ICSU）与联合国减灾战略（UN-ISDR）、国际社会科学理事会（ISSC）共同发起了灾害风险综合研究科学计划（Integrated Research on Disaster Risk, 简称“IRDR”）。该计划为期十年，国际项目办公室（International Programme Office, 简称“IPO”）设在中国科学院对地观测与数字地球科学中心。

为了给各国科学家提供一个更好的、跨学科的、灾害风险综合研究国际学术交流平台，IRDR-IPO与中国科学技术协会将于2011年10月31日至2011年11月2日在北京国际会议中心共同主办灾害风险综合研究国际会议（简称IRDR 2011大会），会议将汇集来自全球近４０个国家和地区的300多名专家学者共同交流灾害方面的最新研究成果。本次会议的主题为“Disaster Risk: Integrating Science and Practice”，其中，共分为四个议题：

(一) 灾害、脆弱性和风险的特征

(二) 复杂多变的风险环境下的决策

(三) 通过基于知识的行动降低风险、控制损失

(四) 灾害风险综合研究新动态

网上摘要征集已于8月10日结束，为更全面地探讨以上议题，IRDR科学委员主席Gordon McBean教授希望收到更多关于天气-气候相关灾害事件的报告摘要，尤其希望我所科学家能积极参加。请感兴趣的科研人员尽快于9月15日前将英文报告摘要email至Anna Rudashko (anna.rudashko@irdrinternational.org)。
